The Challenge: An Easy Start to Achieving Your Someday

As I was driving to work the other day, listening to my favorite radio station, I quickly caught word of a very interesting challenge. Now this wasn’t any ordinary challenge, nothing that needed to be completed to win something, nothing that the radio station was hosting, nothing out of the ordinary. Instead, it was a personal challenge that you can decide to take on your own, on your own time and track your own results.

I was intrigued from the moment I heard them talking about it. Something about a list, something about 101 items, something about personal goals – I knew I had to find out what it was they were talking about.

So, as they no later mentioned a website I could visit to get more details, I was all for it. I quickly went to it (http://holly101list.wordpress.com) the moment I got to work. It was interesting. This woman (Holly) had been on the radio show a week earlier and was spreading the news of her 101 List Challenge.

So, what’s to it? All you have to do is create a list of 101 things that you want to do within 1001 days. Now according to Holly and her website, the criteria are as follows:

“Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).”

I was hooked. I read through her list, saw her accomplishments and thought, what a great way to get to someday. She had clearly set out a small portion of her “someday” and was now trying to achieve it. I was very impressed, and needless to say, I couldn’t wait to share my discovery with you.

Now, I am going to challenge you. I challenge you to go and checkout Holly’s website (http://holly101list.wordpress.com) and start your very own 101 list. Don’t make this hard, make it fun. Find a way to get to a small portion of your “someday” today. Don’t forget to keep track, maybe start a blog, a journal or even a scrap book. Make it memorable.

Oh yes… and one more thing, don’t hesitate to share your progress with the rest of us!
